Perched on a flat shelf in the Hollywood Hills, our bachelor client was looking for a peaceful refuge from the city. We added walls of sliding glass that open to a swimming pool and terraced decks tucked into the rear hillside. An expanded bedroom suite and spa-like bath enhance the sense of calm. A sunken den with soft seating looks out to a private garden, with views of the hills beyond. Custom built-in furnishings throughout keep the spaces clean and uncluttered. Natural woods, stone slabs, and hand-troweled plaster walls complete the transformation into a warm zen retreat.
